Violencia de género en el ámbito universitario en México: espacios de memoria que emergen del activismo feminista en redes

Main Article Content

Daniela Cerva
Marcela Suárez Estrada

This article analyzes the spaces of memory created by feminist activism as a form of resistance to violence against women in the university environment in Mexico. Student feminist activism is aimed at denouncing the aggressors and making public the institutional responsibility in the normalization and complicity of the acts of violence. Taking as a unit of analysis the social media profile of a feminist collective at UNAM, we address their political activism through their on-off line practices of denouncing and fighting against impunity. We argue that student collectives are groups that are constituted as agents of social change, that through the use of the resources provided by digital culture have managed to create spaces of memory to politicize - in a novel way - the problem of violence against women within the country's universities.
