Project created by Article 19, Comisión de la Verdad de Guerrero and El Colegio de México, whose objective is to contribute to the right to truth and memory of the period of repression and systematic violence by the State between 1950-1980 in Mexico. The article presented below looks at the digital archive as a medium of memory, a concept developed by Astrid Erll (2011). It pays special attention to the mental dimension of this medium of memory, made up of all those schemes that are specific to culture and the collective codes that make common remembering possible and that mark through symbolic transmission. It aims to answer a central question: What are the mental representations about the repressive past that the relatives of victims and users of the digital archive “Archivos de la Represión” construct?
